BRN​ ​Committees

We ​identified ​4 ​primary ​directions ​for ​the ​BRN ​to ​explore. ​​We ​will ​be ​forming ​committees, chaired ​by ​a ​board ​member, ​around ​each ​of ​these ​efforts. ​Please ​mark ​any ​committees ​that you ​would ​be ​interested ​in ​joining.

  1. Regional ​BRN ​Affiliates: ​Identify ​and ​nurture ​Buddhist ​Recovery ​Regions ​globally. Regions ​can ​be ​geographic ​and/or ​by ​interest ​group ​(ie ​single ​parents, ​differently ​abled, POC, ​etc). Regions ​would ​be ​supported ​by ​BRN ​with ​promotion, linking ​web ​page(s), ​and give ​advice.
  2. Website/Social ​Media, ​Community ​Outreach ​and ​Communication: ​Maintain ​and improve ​ Develop ​online ​resources. Monitor ​and ​post ​on ​the ​BRN ​Facebook ​page ​and ​other ​social ​media ​sites. ​Create ​and distribute ​news, ​event ​information, ​fundraising ​appeals ​and ​other ​means ​of ​engaging and ​promoting ​Buddhist ​Recovery.
  3. Facilitator ​Training/Meeting ​Incubator: Assist ​in ​the ​spread ​and ​creation ​of ​Buddhist Recovery ​meetings ​worldwide. ​Provide ​resources, ​training, ​guidelines ​from ​a ​multitude of ​influences. ​Assist ​practitioners, ​teachers, ​clinics ​and ​anyone ​interested ​in ​starting ​a Buddhist ​Recovery ​meeting. Create guidelines and code of conduct for meetings. Explore what we can learn from the 12 step tradition and incorporate this into our guidelines.
  4. Buddhist ​Recovery ​Summit ​and ​Retreat ​Planning: ​Assist ​in ​all ​aspects ​of ​planning annual ​or ​semi ​annual ​Buddhist ​Recovery ​Summits ​and ​retreats: ​Destination ​and ​venue selection, ​content, ​speakers, ​activities ​and ​more.

Please ​advise ​which ​of ​these ​areas ​interest ​you. ​Feel ​free ​to ​select ​more ​than ​one ​and ​we ​will direct ​you ​to ​the ​area ​that ​most ​needs ​your ​help. ​We ​hope ​to ​keep ​the ​time ​commitment ​for ​any of ​these ​groups ​to ​1 ​hour/week.

BRN​ Board

Join​ing ​the​ ​Board​ ​of​ ​the​ ​BRN.​​ ​We​ ​are​ ​looking​ ​for​ ​qualified​ ​members​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Buddhist Recovery​ ​Sangha​ ​to​ ​join​ ​the​ ​Board​ ​of​ ​the​ ​BRN.​ ​We​ ​will​ ​recruit​ ​board​ ​members​ ​from committees,​ ​and​ ​regional​ ​affiliates.​ We​ ​are​ ​also​ ​looking​ ​for​ ​Board​ ​members​ ​with​ ​specific​ ​skills needed​ ​such​ ​as​ ​accounting,​ ​law,​ ​organizational​ ​experience,​ ​administrative​ ​and​ ​other​ ​talents.
